AMP for mobile visitors

Optional AMP output through the official AMP plugin — set up for you.

On this page

Authority and Access can serve an AMP version of your pages to mobile visitors through the official AMP plugin from WordPress.org. It is off unless you choose it, and both products work the same without it.

Turning it on

The setup asks Enable AMP for mobile visitors? — in Authority’s AMP setup step (later under Authority → Integrations), and in Access on Single Brand → Design. Yes, enable AMP does the whole setup:

  • installs and activates the official AMP plugin if it is missing;
  • sets Transitional mode, so the normal page stays canonical and links to its AMP version;
  • turns on Mobile Redirection, so mobile visitors are taken to the AMP version;
  • supports every template and the post and page types.

No, not now installs and changes nothing. Settings that need information only you have, such as analytics accounts, are not filled in — add them under Settings → AMP.

What stays the same

  • SEO. Each page, normal or AMP, keeps one title, description, canonical, robots tag, set of social tags and structured-data block. Sitemaps list only the normal URLs.
  • Links. Outbound brand links (/go/…) are never rewritten.

Turning it off

Disable AMP switches off Mobile Redirection, restores the AMP settings you had before, and deactivates the plugin if the product had activated it. Content, URLs and canonical addresses do not change.

AMP pages load the AMP runtime from cdn.ampproject.org, so a mobile visitor’s browser contacts that service when it opens an AMP page.
