Search Console checklist after launch
The first search checks to run once a new site is live.
These are general checks for any new WordPress site.
- Make sure Settings → Reading → Discourage search engines is unchecked.
- Verify the domain in Google Search Console.
- Submit the XML sitemap at
/wp-sitemap.xml. - Use URL Inspection on the homepage and one key page to confirm they can be indexed.
- In the following weeks, watch the Pages report for crawl or indexing errors and confirm structured data with the Rich Results Test.
No theme can guarantee rankings. A clean, structured site gives your content the best foundation — the content still has to earn its place.
